About CHAATs

As automation and AI reshape pharmaceutical research, forums dedicated to high-throughput chemistry (HTC) workflows—and the synergies between HTC and AI/ML—remain limited. CHAATs was founded in 2025 as a joint venture by AZ and J&J to close that gap by bringing together high-throughput chemists from across the United States to meet in person, share workflows and real-world impacts, and present creative solutions to common challenges.

Discussions on how to best leverage AI/ML for drug discovery and development are becoming central the symposium. What will medicinal and process chemistry look like in the AI era? We plan to explore that question in greater depth this year.

From the outset, we prioritized involving our commercial partners who build the automated platforms and software that enable HTC workflows, and their enthusiastic participation has been invaluable. We are deeply grateful for their generous support—CHAATs could not exist without it.

We look forward to hosting the 2nd annual CHAATs with nearly double the attendees and sponsors. We hope the connections, insights, and shared knowledge from this symposium will carry us into productive collaborations in 2027 and beyond.
